Responsible for enhancing the company’s corporate identity/image through communication and promotion of goodwill and mutual understanding between the company and its various publics.
Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
Act as a point of contact and liaison between KPC and various publics.
Provide strategic planning and leadership to enhance the corporate image of the company.
Evaluate grants and sponsorship requests and implement the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes.
Formulate and implement new PR programmes to help the company achieve its overall objectives.
Recommend and implement informational and promotional strategies (campaigns) for corporate and marketing purposes and design innovative PR and marketing promotional materials.
Originate and co-ordinate company displays and exhibitions for both corporate and market significance.
Write speeches for management in different fora.
Ensure standardization of all communication collateral e.g. speeches, press release, opinion pieces, briefing notes, power point presentations, photography, videographer, traditional and new media.
Regularly monitor the public’s perception of the company and report to management.
Ensure the organization get value for money in all its public relations investments.
Ensure the organizations events and activities are conducted to the best professional standards and are aligned with the overall corporate strategic plan and communications objectives.
Bachelors Degree in Communication or Public Relations.
Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from a recognized institution.
Minimum seven (7) years relevant experience.
Membership to a relevant professional body such as PRSK.

Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Good Public Relations (PR), persuasion and negotiation skills.
Ability to show creativity, initiative and good judgment.
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Must have newsroom experience and have thorough understanding of how Kenyan media operates.
Must have knowledge in implementing CSR portfolio or foundation.
Ability to research and evaluate results of a Public Relations (PR) campaign/programme.
Proficiency in Desktop Publishing, Microsoft Office suite, e-mail and Internet.
Good and demonstrable understanding of the local petroleum industry.
Good inter-personal, leadership and communications skills (oral and written).
Must be ready to travel at short notice in any part of Kenya.
