Job scams have affected a number of Kenyans where they have been conned all in the name of trying to get a job. It happens in the internet where fake job offers are placed or even in the newspapers. But I guess Kenyans are new to the new job scam in town.
Members of Public have been warned against being duped by aspiring governors who are promising them County jobs among them being William Kabogo’s competitor gubernatorial aspirant James Nyoro.
The governor aspirant for Kiambu County is said to have advertised and promised many County jobs
in yesterday’s local dailies. (Daily Nation Monday February, 2013- Page 17)
Speaking yesterday, the Chairman of Transition Authority Mr. Kinuthia Wamwangi called on Kenyans to be more vigilant and wary of gubernatorial aspirants who promise jobs in the County that do not even exist. He said governors will have no authority to hire anyone in the Civil Service.
As unemployment level increases each day, Kenyans are bound to get more desperate and vote for people who can provide jobs for them and it is for this reason that Mr Kinuthia has said that Kenyans shouldn’t trust the job adverts since they are meant to solicit votes from desperate Kenyans.
“Although the jobs were at the County level, the Governor will have no authority to employ people but can only appoint someone upon recommendation by the County Assembly.
James Nyoro may not have conned Kenyans off their money into making them believe he would provide Kenyans with jobs but his modus operandi is twice as bad!
