November 30, 2012 ENGINEERING JOBS KENYA Engineering Job in Kenya Job Title: Shift Manager Job purpose: Managing production and maintenance processes in the back shift while ensuring maximum utilization of resources to meet set targets and standards Among others, key accountabilities will include:- Managing all production line operations in back-shift, making sure that products or product components from every workstation are produced in time, at optimum cost and meet quality requirements Monitoring all back-shift operations in the plant including Production; Maintenance and Laboratory to ensure that they stay on schedule through coordination of any corrective actions Responsible for back shift employee assignments, rotations, employee breaks, and coverage for absent employees Monitoring shift performance in production, laboratory and maintenance against the specified targets through shift reports and avail this information for end users Ensuring compliance to processing standards, correct any deviations and report variances Instilling discipline among the employees in the shift Maintaining clean and safe plant Planning and conducting shift turn-over meetings Motivating and evaluating shift crew in production, laboratory and maintenance for highest performance levels Managing provision of security, transport and catering services during the back shift as per contractual agreements with the service providers Knowledge, Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering or sciences.
