Housekeeper

Housekeeping attendants provide for the comfort of guests in hotels by ensuring that guest rooms and public areas are clean and properly presented.

A housekeeping attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests, and must be pleasant, friendly and able to address problems or special requests.

Duties:

  • Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.
  • Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning and replacement of equipment and furnishings.
  • Requires working in damp, dusty and dirty areas. Must clean up human waste and other body fluids, as required.
  • Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.
  • Must handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc.
  • Plan work schedule for major tasks.
  • Damp dust furniture, light fixtures, window sills, etc.
  • Empty trash containers daily.
  • Wet mop floors in all residents’ rooms and bathrooms daily. Damp mop all corridor floors, lobby, dining areas,and others daily.

  • Check all vacant rooms daily to keep fresh.
  • Clean all air vents.
  • Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts or screws, beds needing repair, etc.).
  • Wash windows as scheduled.
  • Completely strip and recoat all floor areas when necessary and as scheduled.
  • Check entire area for spills, water, etc. periodically, especially in residents’ bathrooms.
  • Follow instructions on use of germicidal solutions to clean. All procedures for solution use will be part of the Housekeeper’s training. Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services.

Position: Office Cleaner

Reports To: Receptionist

Purpose: Reporting to the Receptionist, the Office Cleaner will ensure that the office is kept clean and office refreshments are prepared on time. She/he will maintain high standards of cleanliness in the Directors’ offices and perform all kitchen duties.

Safari Park Hotel, a leading five star hotel situated in Nairobi and serving the top notch of the Hospitality sector seeks to employ a suitable Kenyan Citizen with the right attributes to fill the positions below.

SENIOR CHIEF STEWARD

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the successful candidate will be responsible for;

  • Cleanliness and sanitation of all the areas of Food and Beverage.
  • Inventory and control of all F&B equipment.
  • Control, supervision and duty allocation to the Kitchen stewards.
  • Training all employees under the section on proper hygiene standards and sanitation guidelines.

The position is challenging and calls for a dynamic, confident, and imaginative person with the following attributes;

  • At least five years experience in a similar position, preferably from a five star hotel establishment.
  • Good F&B knowledge.
  • HACCP awareness.
  • Ability to communicate with F&B and stewarding team.
  • Leadership, training and management skills.
  • Good knowledge of detergents and sanitation guidelines.
